All of K9 Dojo’s programs offer a highly efficient approach to dog training, using humane techniques and methods to get the most effective training. We create behaviour by fixing thought-process rather than behaviour, using a variety of tools and methods which are tailored to you and your dogs’ specific needs. By using a mixture of positive conditioning including touch, praise, encouragement, and play, we teach the dog to understand “first-command response” wherein they follow the command the first time you tell them. These rewards are given at precise moments to encourage good behaviour, manipulate unwanted behaviour into good behaviour, and discourage bad behaviour – we create a language for you and your dog to communicate in a more streamline fashion using naturally occurring actions and ones which we teach you. We do not use food to treat-train or motivate or reward, but rather love and affection which is more readily available, constant and consistent. Your dog is trained to complete the command successfully by the trainer, and after this has been achieved and the behaviour imprinted, we then teach you – the owner. This method enables us to avoid possible pitfalls, by setting you and your dog up for success right from the start.

We’ve managed to make a one-stop-shop where all training commands you would learn in many other training schools are combined into one program (whichever program you choose is up to you and the standards of obedience you want from your dog). We’ve created a schooling system that does not require you to keep coming back for more training because we want happy clients who do not need to keep coming back, who are happy the first time around.
We offer a multitude of programs from Puppy Imprinting to Executive Off Leash, or we can create a tailored program if you have specific areas you’d like to work on. We encourage everyone in the family to partake in all training, as its’ beneficial to have the dog understand that you are a unit and where it’s place in your “pack” is.
We provide behaviour modification, the possibility for time extension to refine any covered skills, and over-the phone service to provide you assistance regarding any already covered training topics. There is refresher courses available for you to bring your training back up par if it is required, all to ensure that you are provided with the best of care.
