My name is Tomer Joury and I’d like to welcome you to the K9 Dojo Inc.
Our goal is to provide the best service to our clients possible offering up great training – no treats, no tricks! We use operant conditioning as one of the main methods of teaching your dog the skills they need to cope and behave as a good canine citizen in todays’ society.
Operant conditioning provides reward or positive redirection, based on the dogs’ action, to praise the good behaviour thereby discouraging the bad behaviour. Because we understand that we are expecting a lot of our dogs we reward them with touch, sound, and play.
First Command Response is something all of our training provides – we teach your dog to react the first time a command is given, providing stability and control. The methods we use are tailored to each dog but what always remains the same is that we train the clients’ dog first and then train the client, it helps to cut down on training time and removes much of the usual room for error in both owner and dog.
The level of obedience is up to you but all of our training programs are “complete” meaning that more than one training package is not necessary, but optional.
Animals have always been a passion of mine, owning dogs since before I can remember and taking part in my first dog training classes at the tender age of 9. I had found my passion and continued working with my own dogs, learning alongside with them. I have been educated through multiple sources including other top professionals, apprenticeship, correspondence with military unit dog handlers, peers, and dogs themselves.
I created the K9 Dojo to provide something which is hard to find – one stop shop dog training. We provide training to G.T.A. and surrounding suburbs including Toronto, North York, Mississauga, Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Markham, etc.
